About the role

The Environment and Planning Support Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Environment and Planning department. This role involves managing various administrative processes through specialised software, ensuring compliance with legislation, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities include processing financial transactions, creating written materials, training staff, and maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall objectives of the department while creating value for the community.

Who We Are Looking For

We seek a proactive and adaptable individual who demonstrates a strong commitment to quality service and team collaboration.

  • Certificate III qualification in Business Administration or relevant experience in local government or environmental planning.
  • Experience in a fast-paced administrative role, particularly in local government settings.
  • Proficiency with various software systems, including Property and Rating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively.

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $65.5k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $78.8k per year on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation  
  • We have a temporary full-time role available. 
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite 
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building 

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other temporary vacancies.
