About the role

The Infrastructure and Access Crossing Engineer plays a crucial role in managing and administering applications related to vehicle access crossings and transport infrastructure. This position requires a proactive approach to assessing engineering plans, ensuring compliance during construction, and liaising with various stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes for the community.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality customer service and ensuring that all infrastructure works adhere to Australian Standards and Council guidelines to ensure public safety. You will also engage in technical inspections and provide expert advice throughout the approval and construction processes.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in assessing and determining matters in an asset and infrastructure environment, combined with ongoing professional development
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in the construction and maintenance of civil works, especially roads and drainage
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders
  • Ability to analyse engineering plans, technical documentation and ensure compliance with legislative requirements
  • Be motivated, adaptable, and committed to achieving high standards while fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects efficiently and provide technical input into Council policies and guidelines

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $100.5k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $116.5k per year on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation  
  • We have a permanent full-time role available 
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role subject to agreement
  • This role is located at the Erina Works Depot, however consistent field work is required. 

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, an alternate pre-used vehicle is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles. 

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
