About the role
The Lead Operations Engineer plays a pivotal role in managing the daily operations of the Systems Operations Section, overseeing Senior Operations Engineers, Operations Engineers, and Technical Officers. This position is responsible for a comprehensive range of water and sewer operations functions, providing both strategic and operational advice while addressing immediate operational challenges.
In this role, you will engage with internal stakeholders and the community to ensure effective service delivery and project completion. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of key operational improvements within the water and sewer networks.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional who possesses strong leadership and technical skills in water and sewer operations.
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders. You should be adept at problem-solving, performance improvement, and navigating complex operational challenges.

Other important information
A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
