  • Casual positions up to 38 hours per week rostered as required between 8am - 1pm.
  • Salary $35.73 per hour (includes 25% casual loading) + 12% superannuation. Penalty rates apply for weekend work.

In contributing to the overarching vision and purpose, the role of the Creche Assistant is to provide supervision of children within Council’s creche to enable their parents to use the facilities at Council’s Leisure and Aquatic Centres. Our ideal candidate is someone who has had experience working with children and can provide quality customer service to parents, patrons and children and is highly safety focused. You will also be required to prepare, develop and deliver children's program activities based on their interests to ensure they enjoy a positive experience in the creche. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include: 

  • Provide supervision of children in care to allow parents and guardians to use centre facilities to achieve their personal development goals and improve the health and fitness of the community
  • Ensure the children safety at all times through provision of safe activities and facilities with continual intensive surveillance
  • Prepare, develop and deliver children’s programs activities to improve the activity levels of children using the centre and the wider community
  • Maintain excellent and ongoing customer focus within the business, to ensure a positive experience for all users
  • Explain the features and benefits of the centre programs and memberships to prospective new customers

Essential requirements include:

  • Current Provide First Aid qualification (HLTAID 011)
  • Current Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) qualification (HLTAID 009)
  • Working with Children Check Clearance Number or Application Number as per Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013 and Date of Birth for the purpose of verification.

It is the responsibility of successful applicants to undertake a course of Hepatitis B and Tetanus vaccinations or to demonstrate their immunity prior to commencement of employment.
