Swim Programs Instructor

Do you like working in a leisure environment and teaching kids aquatic safety? We are currently seeking a new Swim Programs Instructor and if you have these skills this might be your chance to rewrite the future with us.

  • Permanent part time role working 15 hours per week predominately afternoons.

About the role

The Swim Programs Instructor is a key player in delivering swim programs that cater to diverse groups within the community. This role involves not only teaching swimming skills but also ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. You will work closely with the Crew Leader to implement lesson plans and track progress while maintaining high standards of customer service.

Your responsibilities will include preparing lessons, explaining program benefits to potential customers, and continuously monitoring the safety and well-being of all participants. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall success of our swim programs while upholding the Council's operational standards.

We are seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for teaching swimming and a commitment to community engagement. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach.

  • Current AUSTSWIM qualification or equivalent in swimming and water safety.
  • Valid CPR certificate and Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Experience in delivering swim programs and collaborating in a team setting.

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $32.06 per hour. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $37.15 per hour on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation 
  • We have a permanent part time role available
  • Work a rotating roster Monday - Sunday between 7am - 7pm. Penalty rates apply for weekend work. 
  • This role is located at the Peninsula Leisure Centre
