About the role
The role of Lead Engineer Asset Management leads a diverse team of professionals and collaborates with other key staff to manage the balance of cost, performance and risk across Council's Water and Sewerage asset portfolio. This role is essential in the delivery of functions and responsibilities of the 'asset owner' for the Water and Sewer Directorate and seeks to ensure Council maximises the value of its over $3B worth of Water and Sewerage assets for the community.
Reporting to the Section Manager Assets and Planning, this role will see you be responsible for the full range of water and sewer asset management functions, including the detailed preparation of strategic asset management plans, guide asset monitoring and reporting functions and initiative and assist in the delivery of major projects and renewal programs. The role also contributes to alignment with the NSW Government's Strategic Planning Assurance Framework for Local Water Utilities and other key regulatory bodies.

Other important information
A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
