About the role

Reporting to the Unit Manager Facilities & Asset Management, the Section Manager Asset Management and Maintenance plays a critical leadership role in driving the strategic direction of Council’s asset portfolio. This position is responsible for overseeing asset management and building maintenance, ensuring high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

The role also provides day-to-day leadership to a dedicated team of professionals, guiding the coordination and delivery of proactive asset and systems management.

Key responsibilities include

  • Developing and executing capital and maintenance programs
  • Managing service contracts, conducting asset inspections
  • Preparing reports, and offering budget advice to asset owners.

Additionally, the Section Manager will optimize and administer Council’s asset management systems to support long-term infrastructure sustainability.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree in Asset Management, Project Management, Business Management, Data Analysis, Facilities Management, Engineering or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Extensive experience in asset and infrastructure management within large organisations
  • Proven leadership in developing high-performing, customer-focused teams
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships in complex environments
  • Strong financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and identifying funding opportunities

Other important information

  • A competitive total remuneration salary package will be provided for this role plus a leaseback vehicle or vehicle allowance valued at $207.31 per week
  • We have a permanent full-time role available 
  • This role will be able to access a 19 day month 
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role 
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
