Community Liaison Specialist

Central Coast Council is seeking a skilled Community Liaison Specialist to join our Water and Sewer Directorate helping to ensure that the voices of our customers are heard and help influence decisions affecting the delivery of their water and sewer services. In leading stakeholder management efforts, building continuing community relationships, supporting project success, and helping to place the customer at the centre of everything we do, you will be helping to rewrite the future with us!

About the role

The role of Community Liaison Specialist is to lead strategic communication and stakeholder coordination efforts directly with customers and community that support the successful delivery of water and sewer infrastructure projects and other related programs. 

This role will see you manage ongoing stakeholder relationships by creating structured and customer centric ways to reflect the communities voice throughout Water and Sewer major projects and programs. The role will also assist in crafting responses to public, resident and stakeholder enquiries across various channels, including social media, telephone, and online platforms. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Degree qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Public Participation, Social or Strategic Planning or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional development. 
  • A current Class C Drivers Licence. 
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management and community engagement programs for a large organisation. 
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry where customers remain at the centre.
  • The ability to work in a challenging environment with changing priorities while ensuring quality outcomes and performance.  
  • Experience with survey platforms and conducting survey analysis.

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $92.6k. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $107.7k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation 
  • We have a permanent full-time role available.
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite.
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.
