About the role

The role of Senior Urban Designer is responsible for the identification of strategic directions and priorities for design and place making initiatives across the Central Coast as well as leading urban design outcomes for centres and implementing urban renewal and urban revitalisation initiatives into the urban fabric through policy, codes and pilot projects. The position of Senior Urban Designer is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in town planning / urban design / built environment / environment planning / architecture / landscape architecture or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development.
  • Strong project analysis, and demonstrated experience in master planning, structure planning, concept planning and strategic planning implementation mechanisms and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of staff and consultants in the planning, design and delivery of urban projects including, town centres, urban growth areas, transport networks and infrastructure planning.
  • Demonstrated capability to plan, guide and direct the development and delivery of urban growth and the implementation of successful centres and neighbourhoods.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current planning systems and best practice planning techniques for delivery high quality-built environments.

Other important information

  • The commencing salary for this position is up to $103,563.08. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $119,987.18 on completion of assessment of skills and performance 11.5% superannuation 
  • We have a permanent full-time
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite 
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
