About the role

In this permanent part time role, you will be part of our passionate Health and Fitness Crew who take pride in working together to enhance the fitness of Central Coast Council residents and guests. Along with your expertise in developing and delivering tailored personal fitness programs, you will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and a customer centric approach which ensures clients are able to meet their fitness goals in a safe and supportive environment.

The successful applicant will be employed for a minimum of 20 hours per week, however their may be opportunities to work additional hours. Shifts will be rostered from Monday to Friday 6am-8pm with some weekend work on a rotating basis. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

About You:

  • You are a registered Fitness Professional - Gym Instructor
  • You are ideally a Registered Fitness Professional - Group Fitness Instructor 
  • You are ideally a Registered Fitness Professional - Personal Trainer 
  • You ideally have your Pilates qualifications including Reformer 
  • You have a current Provide First Aid qualification (HLTAID 011)
  • You have a current Provide Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID 009)
  • You have a valid Working with Children Check as per Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013, or willing to obtain prior to any offer of employment
  • You take pride in seeing people reach their fitness goals
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering personal health and fitness programs
  • Demonstrated experience working in a sport, fitness or wellbeing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to participate and actively contribute in a team environment to achieve organisational goals and outcomes
  • Strong customer service ethos and a demonstrated customer-centric approach to service provision
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff and members of the public both verbally and in writing

Other important information

  • The hourly rate for this position ranges between $28.86 - $31.39 plus 11.5% superannuation
  • This is a Permanent part-time role. 
  • This role is located at Lake Haven Recreation Centre.
  • Successful candidates will be required to have vaccinations against Hepatitis B.

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
