Call for Expressions of Interest - Central Coast Local Planning Panel
Central Coast Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for residents to nominate as Community Representatives for the Central Coast Local Planning Panel (LPP). The term of the current Local Planning Panel is due to expire on 30 June 2024 and Council seeks to appoint a revised Panel to commence in July 2024, for a period of 3 years. This role is not an employee of Council.
Central Coast Council is required to have a functioning Planning Panel in accordance with Section 2.17 of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act, 1979. The Panel determines a range of Development Applications. A Ministerial Direction outlines the Development Applications that are to be determined by the Local Planning Panel. The schedule identifies that the Panel will determine development applications where:
In addition, the Panel provides advice in respect of planning proposals and other strategic planning matters.
Consideration, assessment and appointment of applicants is at the sole discretion of Council. Council intends to appointment Community Panel Members for a period of 3 years, consistent with the provisions of the Environment Planning and Assessment Regulations 2021.
Remuneration
Panel Members will be remunerated on a per meeting basis, in accordance with the Remuneration Determination for Local Planning Panels. More information on this can be found in the Remuneration Determination fact sheet.
