  • Commencing salary range between $1,334.20 to $1,600.20 per week ($69.5k to $83.4k per annum) + superannuation

As the Legal Practice Coordinator you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient administration of the Legal section. You will have the ability to coordinate resources and respond effectively to business priorities. Your role will involve preparation of legal documentation, management of legal matters within the corporate system and assisting with preparation of legal matters for Court.

Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent and temporary vacancies similar to this role.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include: 

  • Administration, maintenance and development of Council's inhouse legal matter management system
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Council's external legal panel
  • Monitoring the Legal Services Outlook account and preparing legal documents and correspondence
  • Implement, monitor and evaluate administrative practices, business systems and procedures to deliver the required outcomes of the Legal section and ensure all deadlines are met.

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate III qualification in Business Administration or related field or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development
  • Current class C Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative role within a medium to large sized organisation
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic records management systems, budget software, and other computer-based systems
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating the preparation of professional and legal documentation and correspondence to support the Section
  • Demonstrated experience in research and information gathering
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks demonstrating superior organisational, confidentiality and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and a good standard of customer service
  • Demonstrated experience utilising a wide variety of systems and applications in a business support capacity.
