  • Fast paced reception opportunity interacting with a diverse range of customers in Council's Leisure Centres
  • Permanent part time – 25 hours per week (up to 38 hours per week)
  • Commencing salary range between $644.75 to $772.50 per week / $33,617.26 to $40,278.15 per annum (based on 25 hours per week) + superannuation

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, social and sports focused environment, where your customer service skills will be put to great use greeting our members, providing program information to potential new users, and ensuring all our customers feel warmly welcomed and supported from the moment they enter Councils Leisure Centres. 

Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent Reception Officer vacancies across Council Leisure and Aquatic Centres on the Central Coast. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include: 

  • Provide up-to-date and accurate information about centre facilities, service and programs to new and existing centre users, both in person and over the telephone
  • Assist with daily administration duties, including banking, word processing, mail outs, publicity distribution, and collection of forms and photocopying as required
  • Maintain excellent and ongoing customer focus within the business, to ensure a positive experience for all users
  • Maintain effective relationships with users of the facility and communicate effectively with other staff members and the public.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in handling cash, reconciliation and operating a computerised point of sale equipment
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced customer service role
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in use of a computerized member/customer management system (database)
  • Demonstrated ability to participate and actively contribute in a team environment to achieve organisational goals and outcomes
  • Strong customer service ethos and a demonstrated customer-centric approach to service provision
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff and members of the public both verbally and in writing.
