Working within the Engineering Certification Section you will find opportunities for career growth and work life balance, while working on interesting and varied developments and projects relating to land development infrastructure, policy and strategic planning for the Central Coast community.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

As a Principal Development Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and assessing State Significant or similar developments including Rezoning and Development Control Plans
  • Encouraging the use of emerging & contemporary techniques and technologies and keep up to date with design standards, design guidelines and industry practice in relation to civil engineering works
  • Contributing to knowledge transfer and mentoring within the section
  • Co-ordinating Subdivision Works Certificate, Roads Act and associated applications to the Development Design Assessment team
  • Assessing complex civil engineering designs and associated documentation in line with applicable legislation

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $111k to $131k per annum dependent on skills and experience (inclusive of 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance and Market Loading ) + 11% Superannuation.  

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $200 per week ($10,450 per annum) is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available, with a 35 hour week.
