We are seeking an exceptional communicator and natural collaborator who is passionate about achieving strategic engagement outcomes. You will like making complex topics understandable, managing multiple projects, storytelling from data and building relationships.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other Engagement Officer or Senior Engagement Officer vacancies. 

Key activities of this role include:

  • Manages content responses to public, resident and stakeholder enquiries regarding community engagement projects and various Council issues across multiple engagement channels including but not limited to social media, telephone, online engagement platforms
  • Provide high level engagement advice to business units and oversees implementation of community engagement projects undertaken across Council
  • Research, develop, and implement a range of innovative, relevant and effective techniques to engage the Central Coast community in Council matters.

About You:

  • Ideally you are degree qualified in Communications, Public Relations, Public Participation, Social Planning or Strategic Planning.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise, while also learning from others
  • It is desirable if you have, or are completing IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation.

This role provides a salary range of between $82.9k to $99.5k per annum + 11% superannuation.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.
