The Destination Management Officer provides the opportunity to contribute to the development and coordination of tourism related strategic plans which lead to improved social and economic outcomes for the community. The role is responsible for coordinating the execution and stakeholder management of the Destination Management Plan to promote the Central Coast as a sustainable tourist destination.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Identifying and enabling government and industry tourism initiatives to improve the local economy and enhance the appeal and the experience of the local government area;
  • Maintaining strong and valuable, collaborative relationships with external stakeholders to ensure high quality and sustainable tourism strategies are realised for residents and visitors to the Central Coast;
  • Accurately preparing and communicating a range of high-level reports and correspondence incorporating analysis on local and industry trends to track progress and appeal to external target audiences and across the organisation.

Essential criteria:

  • Degree qualifications in Tourism, Marketing, Business Management, Economic Development or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar;
  • Demonstrated experience in high-level reporting / report-writing skills, translation of data to visuals and storytelling for engagement;
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, credible relationships and influence, persuade or negotiate outcomes that are of benefit or add value, to all or part of the organisation'
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $82,923k to $95,405k per annum dependent on skills and experience + 11% superannuation. 

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.
