As part of our Northlakes Child Care team you will have an opportunity to put your passion for nutritious food to great use looking after the development of growing children. You will have the children’s best interests at heart and facilitate respectful relationships both with colleagues and parents as you deliver delicious, varied and nutritious meals and snacks for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Provide menus which reflect children’s like/dislikes, individual dietary requirements, allergies and suitable food based on the developmental level of the children;
  • Plan, display, prepare and evaluate fortnightly menus according to nutritional guidelines as recommended by the NSW Health Department;
  • Champion and maintain the health, hygiene and safety standards of kitchen utensils and equipment according to statutory regulations.

About You:

  • Ideally holding a TAFE Certificate of Attainment in Food Hygiene, you have solid recent experience in a similar role catering for large groups;
  • You have a Safe Food Handling Certificate along with a current valid Working with Children Check Clearance;
  • You are adaptable and self motivated, bringing a positive and organised approach to your work, and you enjoy being part of a lively team environment;
  • Having a work/life balance is important to you.

  • You’ll be partnering with an experienced part time Caterer who works Wednesday - Friday, as well as joining a team of experienced child care educators, who excel at what they do.

This role provides a salary range of between $26.14 and $31.37 per hour or $222.19 to $266.65 per week (based on 8.5 hours) + 10% superannuation.

Please note: Due to the current COVID-19 situation interviews will now be conducted via Microsoft Teams.

Applicants will be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and Tetanus (Boostrix) or demonstrate their immunity.

In Accordance with the NSW Government health order it is mandatory and a condition of employment in Child Care that you are vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are the successful candidate you will be required to provide evidence that you have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement.
